Remedial/Deep Tissue Massage

Remedial Massage is the massage and manipulation of the soft tissue of the body such as muscles, ligaments and tendons. Various massage movements are used to promote circulation, increase blood supply and break down fibrous areas which may have formed in muscle, thereby alleviating pain and discomfort and promoting the body's ability to heal.
Regular massage ensures that unnoticeable small injuries are treated before they reduce performance. It effectively removes scar tissue remaining after old injuries, reducing repeat injuries. Lack of blood supply to the spine is a significant cause of long-term back pain. Lack of movement and incorrect use of muscles reduces oxygen supply, resulting in pain. Remedial Massage increases blood supply to soft tissue. Following a recent injury, improvement or complete recovery is seen after 1-3 sessions. It is especially effective for reducing pain.
Swedish Massage

The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. This massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing out of the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable.
In addition, the skin’s natural functions will be stimulated improving the condition of the skin and the warmth created will help relax the body physically and mentally.
Swedish massage feels good, is relaxing and invigorating. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands, and circulation, while promoting health and well being. Studies have shown that massage may help relieve stress, anxiety and pain, especially back pain and fibromyalgia (a condition with painful, stiff and tender muscles and joints) and can lower blood pressure and heart rate.
It's been shown to give short-term benefits to those undergoing chemotherapy, by relieving anxiety and depression, and to offer some help for certain physical conditions such as constipation and menstrual pain.
NO HANDS Massage

NO HANDS Massage is a dynamic new form of Massage that is sweeping across the world as one of the most powerful new therapeutic Massage treatments available.
Conceived and developed by UK therapist Gerry Pyves (seen on picture) after 20 years of clinical testing, it is being hailed as "The Gentle Giant" of healing therapies.
It is deep and powerful, yet so very gentle. Therapists who offer many different Bodywork modalities are finding that their clients ask for nothing else. Clients and therapists alike are now referring to NO HANDS as "The New Massage" - because it is such a different experience from any other Massage and Bodywork on the planet.
Have been learning the NO HANDS Massage Techniques from Gerry Pyves himself, I now incorporate this knowledge into all my therapy work.
Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage is massage therapy specifically tailored for the expectant mother's needs. It is also called pre-natal massage.
The mother's body must be properly positioned and supported during the massage, using pillows and padding or even sitting on a chair. Proper positioning ensures comfort and safety for the mother and baby. Also, some massage techniques, such as deep tissue work, cannot be used. Certain areas of the body should be avoided during pregnancy.
Pregnancy massage has been found to reduce stress, decrease swelling in the arms and legs, and relieve aches and pains in muscles and joints. It's a popular complementary therapy during pregnancy for back pain, when choices for pain relief, such as medication, are often limited. Not only can massage be physically beneficial, but the human touch can be comforting and provide emotional support during pregnancy.Massage therapy has been found to reduce anxiety and depression.
Many massage therapists do not recommend massage in the first trimester. Also, women with certain health conditions may not be able to have pregnancy massage. It's best to consult your doctor and a certified pregnancy massage therapist.
Indian Head Massage

Indian head massage is based on the Ayurveda system of healing which has been practiced in India for over a thousand years. The aim of Indian head massage is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders.
The client, fully clothed, sits in a massage chair for the treatment. The therapist uses a range of different movements including application of deep kneading and compression movements over the neck, shoulder and scalp areas. In addition, the therapist will also gently stimulate and stroke pressure points on the face.
Helps increase joint mobility and flexibility in the neck and shoulders, improves blood circulation and lymphatic flow, frees knots of muscular tension, relaxes connective tissue, and aids in the elimination of accumulated toxins and waste products. It is particularly good for reducing the effects of stress and tension. The therapy is especially good for relieving stress, tension, fatigue, insomnia, headaches, migraine and sinusitis. Clients report that the experience is deeply calming and relaxing, leaving them feeling energized and revitalized and better able to concentrate.
On-Site Massage

On-Site Acupressure Massage is based on the principles of Anma, a traditional Japanese massage, and is the simplest and most effective way to relieve stress and help prevent work
related disorders.
It incorporates over 100 specific acupressure points on the head, neck, shoulders, arms, hands and back to leave the client relaxed and calm yet energized and alert. It also significantly reduces muscle tension in the upper body by concentrating on the key stress carrying areas, and those areas most affected
by prolonged repetitive work.
The treatment is carried out with the sitting in a specially designed chair (see above). There is no need to remove any clothing for this therapy, and no oils or creams are used, therefore it is a popular choice for anyone who feels uncomfortable, nervous or unsure about massage therapies. The treatment is easy to implement, and as a result has become increasingly popular in the Corporate Sector.
